Put Some 'Spirit' into Roasted Pumpkin Seeds~~

For me, Halloween always conjures up memories of childhood.  My older sister would always have a houseful of friends over to roast pumpkin seeds.  Back in those days butter was a food group. There was often more salt and butter than pumpkin seeds but I always tasted the love.  She would always make sure I wasn't forgotten and included me in the festivities.  Toasting pumpkin seeds on a rainy Halloween night is a tradition you too may love as well.  Put your own spin on it.  Try substituting butter/salt with a ghostly bit of Popcorn Seasoning which comes in a variety of flavors.  Perhaps try sizzling them in some movie theater popcorn oil, mmmm, can't you just taste it now? So what are you doing still reading this , get baking.

*  If you want to Take a walk on the Wild Side try experimenting with some of Duncan Hynes frosting flavorings.  Some of the flavors they sell are caramel, mocha almond,.... cotton candy.  Have fun with it.  Have the kids come up with suggestions, adding a bit of this and a dash of that.

(Be sure to save some seeds for spring planting!!! Make your own heirloom seeds.  Make memories which grow through the years.)

Have the Happiest of Halloweens !!!!! ENJOY!

Food For Thought: Quotes Regarding Faith ....

"If patience is worth anything, it must endure to the end of time. And a living faith will last in the midst of the blackest storm."
Mahatma Gandhi
"Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase."
Martin Luther King, Jr.
"Before the throne of the Almighty, man will be judged not by his acts but by his intentions. For God alone reads our hearts."
Mahatma Gandhi
"When you focus on being a blessing, God makes sure that you are always blessed in abundance."
Joel Osteen
"That deep emotional conviction of the presence of a superior reasoning power, which is revealed in the incomprehensible universe, forms my idea of God."
Albert Einstein

Food for Thought: Quotes on Inner Strength

“Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.”
Mahatma Gandhi

“You have power over your mind - not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.”
Marcus Aurelius

Nothing can dim the light which shines from within.”
Maya Angelou

“You're going to meet many people with domineering personalities: the loud, the obnoxious, those that noisily stake their claims in your territory and everywhere else they set foot on. This is the blueprint of a predator. Predators prey on gentleness, peace, calmness, sweetness and any positivity that they sniff out as weakness. Anything that is happy and at peace they mistake for weakness. It's not your job to change these people, but it's your job to show them that your peace and gentleness do not equate to weakness. I have always appeared to be fragile and delicate but the thing is, I am not fragile and I am not delicate. I am very gentle but I can show you that the gentle also possess a poison. I compare myself to silk. People mistake silk to be weak but a silk handkerchief can protect the wearer from a gunshot. There are many people who will want to befriend you if you fit the description of what they think is weak; predators want to have friends that they can dominate over because that makes them feel strong and important. The truth is that predators have no strength and no courage. It is you who are strong, and it is you who has courage. I have lost many a friend over the fact that when they attempt to rip me, they can't. They accuse me of being deceiving; I am not deceiving, I am just made of silk. It is they who are stupid and wrongly take gentleness and fairness for weakness. There are many more predators in this world, so I want you to be made of silk. You are silk.”
C. JoyBell C.

“We may get knocked down on the outside, but the key to living in victory is to learn how to get up on the inside.”
Joel Osteen, Your Best Life Now: 7 Steps to Living at Your Full Potential

“The sun shines not on us but in us.”
― John Muir
“You have power over your mind - not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.” ― Marcus Aurelius

Can't afford to get sick? Suffering from allergies?.....

There is a way to reduce allergy symptoms, enhance sense of smell and reduce your risk of being infected by air born diseases. The answer is a single word, yet it's one which tends to make people cringe. So hear me out. Where there is a will there's a way. Be strong, it's just a piece of plastic - you've been through worst. OK, here we go.... NETTI POT .. I know, I know. Oh the humanity. Waterboarding comes to mind, eh? HOWEVER, there's a way to make it a rejuvenating process rather than a frustrating torture. Try taking the nettipot in the shower with you. The steam from the shower will help to open your sinuses. Use the hot water from the shower to fill it. As warm and as strong as you can take it. You will be amazed at the difference. You may think you're breathing fine, however, the nettipot will losen mucus you didn't even know was there and your sense of smell will seem bionic... even if you're a smoker. Locked in all that mucus are all the allergy triggers and germs you've breathed in every where you've gone. Eliminating such things from your sinuses will have you breathing easier in more ways than one. I suggest cleansing twice a day or perhaps after having been around sick people or crowed places.

Food For Thought: Quotes About Persistence

“The best way out is always through.”
Robert Frost
“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan Press On! has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”
Calvin Coolidge

“Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.”
Winston Churchill

“Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete? Proving nature's laws wrong, it learned to walk without having feet. Funny, it seems to by keeping it's dreams; it learned to breathe fresh air. Long live the rose that grew from concrete when no one else even cared.”
Tupac Shakur, The Rose That Grew from Concrete
